The Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) is inviting the Indian Nationals residing in India working in the public sector, private sector, or civil society organizations for the submission of Online applications for Commonwealth Scholarship for Masters/ Ph.D. level Study in New Zealand for the tenure 2023. The application process for Commonwealth Scholarship for Masters/ Ph.D. level Study in New Zealand is Online and for this, the applicants have to go to the link mentioned below.

Scholarships are being offered under two broad themes i.e. Climate Change and Resilience AND Good Governance. A broad variety of subjects are offered to applicants.

Level of Course :

Master’s Ph.D.

Last Date: 15th April 2023

Eligibility Criteria

  1. The candidate should be an Indian citizen.                                                                                                                                        
  2. He/she must not hold any other scholarship at the duration of the New Zealand Commonwealth Scholarship.  
  3. Applicants should have completed Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in the subject or allied fields for admission to a Master’s or Ph.D. program respectively.                                                                             
  4. The candidates should be 18 years old at the time of applying for a scholarship.                                                    
  5. The student assumes to meet Immigration requirements for a student visa to New Zealand or the Pacific country I will study in                                                                                                                                                                         
  6. The candidate expects to meet the academic entry requirements (including English language ability) to get into the preferred program of study.                                                                                                                     
  7. The candidate has to give an undertaking that after completion of their study he/she will return to India to contribute to the country’s development for a minimum period of 2 years.

  4. Air ticket for travel to and from your home country at the start and end of your scholarship.
  5. Postgraduate research students will get assistance with research and thesis costs.
  • Personal and Academic support will also be given to scholars by the international student’s advisors.
  • You will also get support for preparing for studying in New Zealand.

  • The applicants can download the prescribed application form and complete the New Zealand Commonwealth Scholarship application form.
  • Complete the prescribed New Zealand Scholarship Application form and submit it along with all the supporting documents to the Ministry of Human Resource Development at the time of the interview.

Required Documents 

The documents to be uploaded at the time of applying online application

  • Self-attested scanned copy of the mark-sheet of degrees, diploma, qualifying examination
  • For grades, the candidate must upload the official explanation adopted by the University/ institution
  • Self-attested copy of date of birth certificate/ class 10th certificate bearing date of birth or other equivalent documents.
  • Self-attested copy of language proficiency as specified in the form.
  • The proposed plan of study, in not more than 500 words
  • Publication (if required)
