MOMA Pre-matric Minority Scholarship 2023: The notification regarding the application for Pre Matric Scholarship (Fresh and Renewal) for the year 2023 has been issued by the Ministry of Minority Affairs (MOMA), Govt of India. Students up to Class X of the minority category can apply for Pre Matric scholarship by October 2023. MOMA Pre-Matric Scholarship is for those students who are belonging to Minority communities such as Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, Buddhists, Zoroastrians (Parsis), and Jains, pursuing studies in India in Government or Private schools including residential govt institutes and eligible private institutes notified by the State Govt and UT.
The scholarship for the Pre Matric level is given to encourage the parents from minority communities to send their children to school and to reduce the burden of finance on school education.
Timeline (For Fresh & Renewal)
- Submission of Online applications for Fresh scholarship by students: October 2023
- Submission of Online applications for Renewal scholarship by students: October / November 2023
Eligibility Criteria for MOMA 2023 for Minority
- Pre Matric Scholarship will be awarded to the students are belonging to minority communities viz Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, Buddhists, (Parsis), and Jains and studying in Classes I to X
- To be eligible these students must have scored not less than 50% marks in the previous final examination.
- The student’s parents/guardian’s annual income should not be more than Rs. 1 lac (1,00,000/-) from all sources.
- 30 % of scholarships are reserved for girl students. In case of not a sufficient number of students, these will be awarded to the eligible male students.
- Scholarships will be given to two students from a family.
MOMA Pre-Matric Scholarships for Minorities 2023 Benefits
The selected students will be awarded a Pre Matric scholarship for the entire duration of the course, whereas the Maintenance allowance will be given for 10 months of duration in an academic year. The rate of scholarships is mention below:
(A) Admission fee from class VI to X:
- Hosteller: Rs.500/- per annum subject to actual.
- Day Scholars: Rs.500/- per annum subject to actual.
(B) Tuition fee from class VI to X :
- Hosteller: Rs.350/- per month subject to actual.
- Day Scholars: Rs.350/- per month subject to actual.
(C) Maintenance allowance is payable for a period not exceeding 10 months in an academic year :
- (Class I to V) Hosteller: Nil | Day Scholar: Rs. 100/- per month
- (Class VI to X) Hosteller: Rs. 600/- per month subject to actual | Day Scholar: Rs. 100/- per month
Terms & Conditions
- The award will be discontinued if a student fails to secure 50% marks in the annual examination except in case of unavoidable reasons notified by the Principal/competent authority of the school.
- Students should be regular in attendance for which the yardstick will be decided by the competent authority of the school.
- The school/institute will certify the claim of a student of being an outstation student not residing in the hostel of the school/institute concerned.
- The migration of students from one school/institute to another would not normally be during the academic year except under exceptional circumstances.
- The scholarship may be canceled if a student violates school discipline or any other terms and conditions of the scholarship.
- The scholarship will be canceled, in case a student obtained a scholarship by presenting false statements/certificates.
- Course fee/Tuition fee and maintenance will be credited to the student’s bank account through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) mode.
- The candidates who selected under this scholarship scheme shall not be allowed to avail of the benefits under any other scholarship scheme for the same purpose.
Application Process of MOMA Pre-Matric Minority Scholarship 2023
The scheme will be announced by the concerned State Government/UT Administration by giving advertisements in the leading language newspapers and local dailies/vernacular and by using other suitable publicity media. Offline applications will not be accepted.

- All applications can be uploaded on the National Scholarship Web Portal of Government of India, ie. scholarships.gov.in. Students can also get the link of scholarship from minorityaffairs.gov.in.
- The concerned State Government/UT administration will supply the application forms.
- The application form should be received back to the authority along with necessary
documents within the given timeline. - All the required documents should also be attached with the application form.
Required Documents
- Income Certificate: Income certificate from the employer for employed parents/guardians or Certificates to be issued by the Competent Authority declared by the State Government/ UT Administration.
- Self Attested Passport size photograph of the candidates along with Signature
- Previous examination Certificates must be attested.
- Proof of Permanent address is also required with the application form.
- Minority Certificate which proofs the candidates belong under this category.
- Fee receipt of Current Course Year
- Proof of Bank Account in the name of the student.
- Aadhaar Card
Renewal of MOMA Pre-Matric Scholarship 2023 for Minority Students-
The scholarship will be renewed during the next academic year of the course on the production of certificate that the student has secured 50% marks.
For the renewable – Receipt of acknowledgment of scholarship in the previous year duly countersigned by the Principal of School of the head of the institute.
