IIM Ranchi Post Doctoral Fellowship 2023
Indian Institute of Management IIM Ranchi is inviting applications from the students who have completed their Ph.D. for Post Doctoral Fellowship for the academic year 2023. The goal of this Post Doctoral Fellowship is to create climate support for research in the institute and its objective is to support high-quality research by scholars with a doctoral degree and an outstanding academic record. Up to five (5) fellowships are awarded to the most suitable students every year. The selected fellows of Post Doctoral Fellowship will conduct academic research jointly with a resident faculty member in their area of interest. The selected fellows will be awarded a fellowship amount of Rs. 50000 per month along with the contingency grant of Rs. 50000 per year. Eligibility Criteria for IIM Ranchi Fellowship 2023
- The candidates who are interested to apply for the fellowship should have a consistently good academic record and demonstrated research potential.
- Candidates should have a Ph.D. Degree or those who have submitted their thesis for the Ph.D. degree may also apply. The thesis must be in appropriate discipline.
- The age limit for applicants for the Post-Doctoral Fellowship 2023 will be a maximum of 40 years
- Five (5) years of relaxation in age will be given to the female candidates and reserved category candidates.
Award Benefits
- Every selected fellow will be awarded a grant of Rs. 50,000 per month.
- A contingency grant of Rs. 50,000 per annum will be provided to the post-doctoral research fellow for research purposes.
- The IIM Ranchi would pay the expenses for a fellow to attend one conference abroad from an approved list of conferences if their joint paper with a resident faculty member is accepted for presentation at that conference.
- Office space will be provided to post-doctoral research fellows along with a computer and printer.
- Selected scholars will also be issued a special research library card, enabling them to borrow up to ten books from the library at a time.
- A post-doctoral research fellow will be eligible for leave from the fellowship not more than 30 days in a year for each completed year of the fellowship.
Application Process
- The candidates can apply for Post Doctoral Fellowship through online mode only.
- The interested candidate who fulfills all the above-mentioned eligibility conditions can apply for one area of specialization mentioned above using one application.
- For the applications, the candidates will have to pay the fee of Rs. One thousand (1000). And for SC/ST/EWS/PWD persons, the application fee will be Rs. Five Hundred (500). The application fees need to be submitted through online mode only.

- The candidates must bring all the documents, like educational certificates, mark sheets, etc. along with the print out of the application at the time of the interview.
Selection Criteria for a post-doctoral fellowship in IIM Ranchi
- Selection will be based on demonstrated research skills and a fit with the research interests of resident faculty. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to campus to present their research before a final decision is made.
- Past research / Ph.D. thesis work demonstrating the potential for scholarly work would facilitate the initial shortlist process.
- The shortlisted candidates will be invited for an on-campus presentation and interview.
- The candidates selected for the PDFM will be attached to the given area and will be associated with a faculty member of the group who will essentially perform the role of a mentor and collaborator.
- Selection will be based on demonstrated research skills and a fit with the research interests of resident faculty.
