Dr. D. S. Kothari Postdoctoral Fellowship Scheme -: this scheme available throughout the year. Savitribai Phule Pune University is receiving the application from the students who had one or two years of Postdoctoral training and who fulfill the eligibility conditions. So if you fulfill all the eligibility conditions can apply for Dr. D. S. Kothari Postdoctoral Fellowship 2023.

Eligibility for Dr. D. S. Kothari Postdoctoral Fellowship Scheme 2023:

  • The applicant who is below 35 years of age is applicable to Dr. D. S. Kothari Postdoctoral Fellowship Scheme.
  • Relaxation on age will be given to OBC- 3 years, SC/ST/Women -5 years and Physically Handicapped – 10 years
  • The candidate should have received a Ph.D. Degree or submitted Ph.D. thesis under science faculty are eligible to apply.
  • It is must that the applicant identifies a Mentor (affiliated to University/Institute wherein DSK Fellowship is tenable) for his/her postdoctoral Research work and obtain his/her consent for the mentorship.
  • The candidates who are holding the Ph.D. Degree and selected will be directly awarded the PDF.
  • Those applicants who have submitted their Ph.D. thesis will be awarded a bridging fellowship until they are formally awarded the Ph.D. Degree.
  • Higher PDF will be given to those applicants who identified as outstanding by standing (core) peer committee of reviewers.
  • The teachers who are below 35 years of age and working on confirmed posts in Academic Institutes may also apply for the fellowship. A Certificate is needed along with the hard copy, from their head of Institution (Registrar of University / Principal of a college) that the teacher will be given attest one year of study leave / special leave without financial support for carrying out their postdoctoral work.
Duration of Dr. D. S. Kothari Postdoctoral Fellowship Scheme 2023
  • The fellowship will be awarded to the selected candidates on a yearly basis with renewal/termination clause on the basis of PDF mentor/peer group appraisal.
  • Whereas the maximum duration of the PDF award would be 3 years.
  • No extension will be given under any circumstances.
  • Candidates should give an undertaking while availing the award, along with the endorsement of the research mentor that they would stay in place for a minimum of six months.
  • Once the candidate is awarded the DSKPDF, and he/she joins the fellowship, he/she will not eligible to apply ever again for DSKPDF in the same or other workplaces.
  • In case the applicant has already applied for Dr. D. S. Kothari Postdoctoral Fellowship and has been declared as unsuccessful, he/she is permitted to apply freshly with a new research proposal only after one year from the date of declaration of the earlier result.
Dr. D. S. Kothari Postdoctoral Fellowship Scheme  Application Process :
  1. The application process for Dr. D. S. Kothari Postdoctoral Fellowship Scheme will be open throughout the year. There is no deadline is fixed for the same.
  2. For updates, the candidates can check the DSKPDF website.
  3. The candidates can fill the applications electronically using the forms that are available on the website.
  4. The candidate must have received a Ph.D. degree or has submitted his/her Ph.D. thesis inappropriate subject to be eligible.
  5. It is also necessary to obtain the agreement of the mentor (affiliated to institution wherein DSK Fellowship is tenable) to accept the applicant as a postdoctoral fellow.
  6. The proposed mentor must have at least three Ph.D. students guided/supervised towards successful completion of the Ph.D. work.
  7. If fulfilling the above preliminary requirements then the application will be processed further.
  8. The signed printout of the application must be received by the National Coordinator of the Scheme, along with the supportive documents, like degrees of graduation/post-graduation certificates, Ph.D. degree, etc. within 15 days from date of online application.
  9. In case of applicants for Bridging Fellowship, a certificate of submission of the Ph.D. thesis duly signed by the guide or the Registrar of University/ Institute must be attached.
  10. The candidates should also attach a signed letter (in prescribed format) from the proposed mentor indicating that he/she is willing to accept the candidate for postdoctoral work.
Steps to Apply =>
  • First of all the candidate should apply for Login ID and Password before uploading the actual application.
  • To get the Login ID, he/she should fill the basic form, wherein he/she has to enter some preliminary information about his/her and doctoral degree.
  • The name given by the applicant must match the one on the Master’s and Ph.D. Degree certificate.
  • After filling the above, the candidate will receive a system-generated e-mail for the email verification. The candidate may follow the instructions mentioned in that email in order to authenticate the information provided by him/her.
  • After verification of the information at DSKPDF Cell, the candidate will receive a mail containing a Login ID and Password at the E-mail address provided by the candidate within 10 working days of your request
  • Then the candidate are required to fill the application form by using the provided Login ID and Password within 10 days as it is expired after 10 days.
  • Fill all the columns of the application form and attach the summary of your Ph.D. work, a summary of the proposed research work, and a Mentor’s CV.
  • All uploaded files should be strictly in the specified format limiting to 100 kb size individually.
  • The valid applications will receive a system-generated acknowledgment from Dr. D. S. Kothari Fellowship Cell. This will be accompanied by a file containing your complete application. A unique Application No. (ID) will be assigned to each application. You must note down this number for future use.
  • Take a printout of the Application file provided at the end of the Application Filling procedure.
  • Then affix your recent photograph and signature on the application at the provided places.

Upload the below-mentioned documents

  1. Summary of Ph.D. Work, in a prescribed format.
  2. Concept proposal of the postdoctoral research, in a prescribed format.
  3. A brief Mentor CV, in a prescribed format.
  4. Copy of your Graduation and Post-graduation certificate
  5. Copy of your S.S.C.(10th Class Certificate)/Age Proof Certificate
  6. Ph.D. Degree Certificate Or Certificate signed by Research Guide specifying that you have submitted a thesis (with the Title & Name of the University)
  7. Original Certificate of Mentor on proper letterhead specifying that he/she is willing to guide you for your Postdoc Research work, in the prescribed format
    ** NET/SET Certificate if applicable
    ** Reserved Category/Physically Handicapped Certificate if applicable
  8. If employed as a teacher (on a confirmed position), then you must submit a certificate from your Head of the Institution (Registrar of University / Principal of a college) that you will be given three years of special leave for carrying out postdoctoral work.
