Samsung India Star Scholars program 2023-24
Samsung India has been running the Samsung Star Scholarship program in India for the past several years. Under this program, Samsung offers a scholarship of Rs 2 lakhs annually to the meritorious students of India. This year Samsung India has taken a big step by adding 150 new students of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya for the year 2023-24, who are studying in the current batch. Through Samsung, scholarship is awarded to students studying full-time B.Tech + M.Tech from Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, India and Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) or National Institute of Technology (NIT). The applications are invited from the eligible students for Samsung India Star Scholar Programme 2023-24.
This year 150 new students have been selected under this Samsung Star Scholarship Program. Due to this, now the number of beneficiaries under this scheme will be 560.
The Samsung Scholarship has been launched with the objective of providing assistance to meritorious students of India to pursue higher education.Under the Samsung Star Program, students selected for this scholarship are given Rs 2 lakh annually for five years. So that the students who get this scholarship can easily bear the expenses of Tuition, Hostel Fee and food expenses.
The Samsung Star Scholarship program started in 2013 as a Samsung Smart Class Program in partnership with Samsung India and the JNV committee.But in the year 2016, it has been named as Samsung Star Scholar Program. Ever since Samsung launched this scholarship scheme. Since then more than 2 lakh 50 thousand students across the country have taken advantage of this.
Training is also provided to teachers under Samsung Star Scholarship. So far, over 8000 teachers have been trained to use Interactive technology under this scheme.
Can Samsung Star Scholarship be renewed?
Yes, students who have received scholarships in the last year. They can also get the Samsung Star Scholarship renewed after meeting certain criteria.
The applicant needs to maintain the Semester Grade Point Average (SGPA) or CPGA rating of 5 or more for the second to fourth year for renewing Samsung Star Scholarship.
Objectives of Samsung Star Scholarship :
- The objective of this scholarship scheme of Samsung India is to encourage young students for higher education.
- Through the various programs under the Samsung Star Scholarship program, the talent of the students is to be enhanced and developed.
- Future engineers studying at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya and IITs have to be helped in fulfilling their dreams.
- Another objective of Samsung India Scholarship is to provide high quality education to the meritorious children in rural areas of India.
Last Date to Apply :
Applications have been invited for the year 2023-24 under the Samsung Star Scholarship Program. The last date for applying and submitting related certificates in this scheme is 10 December 2019 (10/12/2019).
Eligibility Criteria for Samsung Star Scholar 2023-24 :
- Only the applicants who are admitted in B.Tech/B.Tech+M.Tech dual degree programme in IITs and NITs listed by Samsung are eligible to apply for the scholarship.
- Must have completed his class 12 from any of the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNVs)
- Applicant must have required to receive good JEE rank to avail this scholarship.
Benefits of Samsung Star Scholar 2023-24 :
Students selected for this scholarship are given Rs 2 lakh (2,00,000) annually for five (5) years.
This financial support is for expenses related to yearly Tuition fee, Examination fees, Hostel and Mess charges.
How To Apply for Samsung India Star Scholarship :
- If you are going to apply for the scholarship being provided under the STAR program of Samsung India, then for this you will need to download the PDF form in Online Mode.
- To get Samsung Star Scholarship, you have to apply in offline mode by 10 December 2019 under this scheme. Because online facility is not available to fill its form.
- You first download the forms through the links given below and then fill them in the correct and clear letters.
- After filling all the forms, you should staple them together and attach all the other requested documents.
- After this, keep the filled form in the envelope and send it through the speed post to the office of Samsung Star Scholarship Program.

What are the enclosures required to get a Samsung Star Scholar 2019:
- Completed Application Form, with self-attested photograph. The Application Form has to be certified and signed by Dean Academics.
- Self-certified clear and legible copy of Class X and XII CBSE marks statement.
- Self-certified clear copy of JEE (Main) ranking certificate.
- Self-certified clear copy of final admission letter from the Institute.
- Original copy for admission/first semester/annual fee receipt deposited at Institute, attested and verified by the Institute’s Dean Academic
- Self-certified copy of your primary active bank account passbook with account number and IFSC code of the bank branch. If selected, the scholarship amount will be deposited to this account (mandatory).
- Self-certified clear copy of Aadhaar Card/ Aadhaar Enrolment ID/ Electoral Card/ Passport (mandatory).
- Self-certified clear copy of PAN Card (mandatory).
- Provide a brief write up on a separate sheet, why you are a qualified candidate for a scholarship and how you will be impacted if chosen.
- In case of students below 18 years of age, Guardian Declaration form is needed to be filled by parents or guardian of students.
Note : The application form and all the other documents are to be counter signed by their respective legal guardians, in case of applicants below 18 years of age.
