Professor Ghanashyam Dash Scholarship 2023 For Higher Education is started by IMFA in the remembrance of Late Prof Ghanashyam Dash who was a famous scholar and historian.
There were six (6) Professor Ghanashyam Dash scholarship is available this year and awarded to a selective candidate to make possible higher education in Engineering & Medical courses. The four (4) scholarships will be given to the commendable students of economically weak families who are permanently domiciled in Odisha and rest two (2) scholarships are awarded the children of permanent employees of the company.
Professor Ghanashyam Dash Scholarship
Under the Professor Ghanashyam Dash Scholarship, it covers 90% of academic fees and other related expenses for the entire duration of the course with an annual limit of Rs. 1,00,000/- per student.
The candidates who are applying for Professor Ghanashyam Dash Scholarship are not allowed to take any other scholarship or any other financial support at the time of application or after selection. Whereas the students can take the onetime awards by informing to the Scholarship Committee.
Eligibility to Apply
Category I:
- Under this category, the children of permanent employees of the Company who draw a basic salary equal to or less than Rs. 12000 (Twelve thousand) per month can apply for this Professor Ghanashyam Dash Scholarship. A candidate must also meet the other eligibility conditions mentioned above.
- The payment of Professor Ghanashyam Dash Scholarship will not be continued on a condition that in case of separation of the employee due to resignation or being dismissed/ discharged from the services of the company. Whereas the scholarship will be continued after the retirement/superannuation of the employee or his/her death.
Category II (Others):
- Under category II, the students’ parents’ annual income must be equal to or less than Rs. 2.00 lakhs (Two Lacs) per annum.
- In this category, preference shall be given to students belonging to SC/ST and physically challenged (PH).
- The students must be a Domicile of Odisha. The students can apply even if they are studying outside of Odisha.
- The Professor Ghanashyam Dash Scholarship shall be given to the candidates who are enrolled in Engineering, Medicine, and Liberal Arts programs only.
- The enrolment of the students must be done in any Government College or UGC-recognized institution.
Awards Amount
Under the Professor Ghanashyam Dash Scholarship, it covers 90% of academic fees and other related expenses for the entire duration of the course with an annual limit of Rs. 1,00,000/- per student.
Scholarship Payment
The payment of Professor Ghanashyam Dash Scholarship shall be paid to the concerned candidates or the parents of the student or directly to the Institute of study as decided by the Scholarship Committee.
How to Apply Online
Category I:
- The willing students should be required to apply to the Scholarship Committee, IMFA Building, Bhubaneswar – 751010, Odisha.
- The prescribed format of the application is available Online at Official Website.
- The student should also attach copies of the supportive document and admission documents which include the Pass Certificate/Mark Sheet, etc of the qualifying examination.
- All the documents will be reviewed by the Scholarship Committee and will take the final decision.
- After the selection of the candidate, the applicant will have to submit relevant supporting documents at the end of every semester or half-yearly/annually depending upon the payment terms of the Institute.
Category II:
- The application form is available online at the Official Website.
- The applicant should need to submit the application form in the prescribed format to Scholarship Committee, IMFA Building, Bhubaneswar – 751010, Odisha.

- Mark sheet of qualifying examination i.e. Class XII / Senior Secondary.
- Admission documents in Engineering/MBBS.
- Income certificate of parents from the Tahsildar/Competent authority.
- Domicile certificate from the Tahsildar/Competent authority.
- Caste certificate (in case of SC/ST students) from the Tahsildar/Competent authority.
- Certificate of Physical disability, if applicable, from the District Medical Board/ Competent authority.
- Two nos. of recent passport size color photograph.

Selection Process
- All the received application will be identified by the Scholarship Committee and shall be ranked based on rank/percentage of marks secured in the qualifying examination.
- At the final stage, the scholarship committee will also evaluate the application which is based on the financial status of the applicants. The decision regarding the final decision of the application shall be final and will not be changed in any case.
General Terms & Conditions
- At the end of every year or academic session, the selected candidates’ performance will be reviewed for the continuation of the scholarship for the next session/year.
- For the engineering course, a minimum of 6.0 OGPA or 60% marks in the annual examination should be required for the continuation of the scholarship. The medical student should obtain 80% marks in the annual examination for the continuation of the scholarship.
- The scholarship recipient must promptly notify the Scholarship Committee of any changes in his/her academic status that occurs during the year. Any break in studies will normally lead to discontinuation of the scholarship unless it is approved by the Institute and prior permission is granted in writing by the Scholarship Committee.
- The Scholarship Committee may also decide to discontinue the scholarship in case of any adverse report from the Institute about his/her conduct or extreme circumstances such as conviction by a Court of Law, etc.
- The payment of scholarship amount is at the discretion of the Scholarship Committee and cannot be challenged.
- The Scholarship Committee has the right to change or substitute any particular part of the scheme or withdraw the scheme without any information and without giving any reason.
