Department of Electronics and IT, Government of Odisha has developed a new portal for the citizens of the state. So they can easily apply for the scholarship under the same platform. This scholarship portal will be launched by the Government of Odisha in the month of January 2023.
The Odisha State Scholarship Portal odishascholarships.gov.in will be developed as a single digital platform for all scholarship schemes and will be maintained by the Odisha Computer Application Center.The portal will process the application for the delivery of scholarships to students for only one scheme in the 2023-24 academic year. It will initially start processing of online applications for pre-matric and post-matric scholarship of SC / ST Development Department ‘Prerna’ in the current academic session.

While registering yourself on this portal, online Aadhaar authentication will be done for each of the applicants / beneficiaries. The government orders all departments to ensure that every scholarship scheme is notified under the provision of Section 7 of the Aadhaar Act, 2016. The government has also ordered all departments to revise their internal process of scholarship distribution.

Features of Odisha State Common Scholarship Portal
- Government of Odisha has asked OCAC to complete the development, testing and trial run of the Common Scholarship Portal before launch.
- The Aadhaar certified e-KYC process will be explored to ensure the authentic disbursement of scholarship amount to students.
- The database will be used by OCAC to develop a comprehensive “student registry” system and for this the state government has decided that the pre-metric Unified District Information System of Education (UDISE) database of Odisha Primary Education Program Authority (OPEPA) and Odisha School Education Program Authority (OSEPA) and post-metric of Student Educational Management System (Siemens).
- Both of these departments are required to provide an application program interface for real-time sharing of data with the scholarship portal.
- Accordingly, to ensure the safe use of student data, OCAC will define a data sharing protocol.
Odisha’s general scholarship portal will also be integrated into iFMS. This will be done to ensure end-to-end scholarship scholarship disbursement process without any human intervention. - The Student Registry can be used by the School and Mass Education Department to give many other benefits such as financial incentives to school students for purchasing by-cycles.

The portal has not been launched yet, the exact process will be presented in a phased manner when the portal will start. Some basic steps that you will need to follow to register for the portal are as follows:
- First of all, to register yourself you need to open an official web portal.

- Click on the link and then you need to enter the details asked on the screen.
