Merit-Based Jammu Kashmir Scholarship for Physically Disabled Student 2023-24: The Government of Jammu and Kashmir has announced the introduction of the JK Government Scholarship Scheme specifically for students with disabilities (physically handicap/Divyang/Viklang). The Physically Handicapped (PH) Viklang/Divyang students will be given the financial assistance of Rs 100000 (One Lakh Rupees) by the state government in the form of scholarship (J&K Govt Scholarship 2023). About Scheme Launch
On the occasion of World Disability Day in Jammu and Kashmir, a new scholarship scheme was launched by the state government for the Empowerment of PwDs (Person with Disabilities) under which a gift of one lakh rupees will be given to talented disabled students and students.
Governor Satyapal Malik announced the launch of the scheme at a function here, saying that under this scheme any talented student and the student will be given a prize of Rs. 1 lakh on the day of “World Disability Day”.
He said that the main objective of granting scholarships to the differently-abled students is to encourage them to study and to get technical/professional/vocational training to enable them to achieve honorable life and become useful members of the society.
A Raj Bhavan spokesperson said, “Different students need different types of support to realize their dreams and the Governor’s AAR-announced scholarship scheme will go a long way in helping the disabled students of the state.”
