Bharat Ratna Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Swadhar Yojana was started from this academic year 2016-17. In the last four years, 35 thousand 336 students have taken benefit under this scheme.

Maharashtra Government has launched “Swadhar Yojana 2023” for the Scheduled Caste (SC) and Neo-Buddhist (NB) students. Under this scheme, students of Class X, XII, Degree, Diploma, and Vocational Courses will get Rs 51,000. Assistance will be provided for their accommodation, boarding facilities, and other expenses. The main objective of the scheme is to encourage poor students of SC and NB communities for education by providing them with financial support. This scheme is a very good initiative by the Maharashtra Social Welfare Department.

Ambedkar Swadhar Yojana Scholarship

Under Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Swadhar Yojana, the Maharashtra government is providing financial help to Scheduled Caste (SC) and Neo-Buddhist students who haven’t got admission to government hostels due to lack of funds. Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Swadhar Scholarship Scheme 2023 will provide all the facilities to those students ie food, residence food, residence, and other necessary facilities in the government hostel.

For this, the Maharashtra state government will provide them with a fixed amount in their Aadhaar linked to a bank account. The educational expenses of the students are also reimbursed under the Swadhar Scholarship 2023. Students from Class 11, Undergraduate, Postgraduate classes are given a grant of Rs 48,000 to 60,000 (forty-eight thousand to sixty thousand rupees) for annual expenses in cities like Mumbai, Pune, and Nagpur. So far, 35 thousand 336 students have taken advantage of this scheme and Rs 117.42 crore has been spent by the state government.

Women and Child Development Department, Tribal Development Department and Department of Vizabha, OBC including Social Justice Department and a workshop/resident school run by a voluntary organization for boys and girls sponsored by the hostel/resident and school/Ashramshala Divyang Matrimonial workshop students are provided the scholarship grants. Keeping in mind the inflation of these days, the admissible grants to students/admissions of the grantee institutions have been increased. Apart from Rs 900, these students will now be given Rs 1500 grant. The grant is given to the disabled has been increased from Rs 990 to Rs 1650.

Eligibility Criteria for Ambedkar Swadhar Scholarship

Whoever wants to take advantage of this scheme must fulfill the criteria and rules of this scheme. Whoever is eligible for this scheme can avail of the benefit of the future scheme by applying for Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Swadhar Yojana. The eligibility of this scheme and its rules are as follows: –

• Applicants availing this scheme must be permanent residents of Maharashtra.
• Apart from this, the applicant should belong to the scheduled SC or NB Buddha Community of Maharashtra.
• Anyone who wants to avail of the benefits of this scheme so far must first keep in mind that this scheme is only for poor families. That is, only those whose annual income of the family is less than 2.5 lakh rupees will get the benefit of this scheme.
• The student who wants to apply for this scheme should have his bank account which should be linked to his Aadhaar number.
• One more thing that students should keep in mind is that anyone who wants to do a professional course after the 10th class must have a course of not less than 2 years and the student should have been admitted to that course by the time of application.
• The benefit of the scheme will be available only to those students who have secured at least 60% marks in the previous examination.
• Students who are handicapped or physically disabled or disabled will have to score at least 40% marks in the examination of some. Only then will they be eligible for this scheme.
• The student must be within a 5 km radius of Nashik city or be a permanent resident of a distinct headquarter.

Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Swadhar Yojana Amount

Under this scheme, students will get money for lodging facilities. Apart from this, they will also get money for boarding and miscellaneous expenses. Also, students who are in medical and engineering courses and other branches will be given extra money. To avail of this scheme, you must first apply for Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Swadhar Scholarship Scheme 2023.

• 28000 rupees will be given by the Government of Maharashtra to the students for boarding facilities under this scheme.
• Keeping in mind the lodging facility, the government will assist Rs 15000 to the students.
• The government will give Rs 8000 separately to the students for various expenses.
• Students who are in medical or engineering courses will be given an additional grant of Rs 5,000 by the government.
• At the same time, students who have joined other branches, the government will provide an amount of Rs 2000 under this scholarship scheme.
• In total, under this scholarship scheme, Rs. 51000 will be given annually to the students as a scholarship amount by the government.
