Debesh Kamal Scholarships for Higher Education/Research Abroad 2023 for Indian nationals

The Ramakrishna Mission Institute of Culture, Kolkata released a notification of Debesh-Kamal Scholarships for Higher Education/Research Abroad 2023. For this scholarship, the student must have passed the undergraduate or PG course from the first division and should be less than 30 years of age. The scholarship is available for the Indian nationals and the selected scholarship shall be awarded a scholarship of Rs. One Lac for one year.

Eligibility 

To be a part of this scholarship, the students must fulfill the below points.

1. The student must be an Indian national only
2. The student must have obtained good academic record with first class marks at the Honours of Postgraduate level
3. The applicant must not be more than 30 years of age.
4. The student must have admitted to a course of study/research at a major university or comparable academic institution abroad and for this, he/she must have submitted the evidence.
5. Research students/scholars will have to submit along with their applications an outline of their research project as may have been approved by the university/institution concerned.

Debesh-Kamal Scholarships Benefits 

• The applicants who are selected will be awarded a scholarship amount of Rs. One (1,00,000) for one-year duration.
• The above scholarship amount is not sufficient for studies abroad, so the candidates will have to produce acceptable evidence of other resources or committed financial support.

Application Process

• The candidates are required to submit the application form in the prescribed format.  The form also includes the passport size photograph of the candidate.

Required Documents 

• The duly filled in application form
• Attested passport size photograph of the applicant
• Bank draft for INR 100 in favor of the Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission Institute of Culture
• Attested photocopies of certificates and mark sheets, etc.

Selection Criteria 

1. After the evaluation of all applications, the candidates will be shortlisted.
2. The candidates who are shortlisted will have to appear before the Selection Committee at the Ramakrishna Mission Institute of Culture, Kolkata.
3. All the final decisions, regarding the selection of candidates, shall be final.
