Rotary Peace Fellowship 2023 for Masters and Certificate Program 

The candidates who want to practice Masters or Certificates programs at different Rotary Peace Centres situated in various countries crossways the world are invited for Rotary Peace Fellowship 2023 organized by the Rotary Foundation. The candidates who are working in the field of international relations, peace and conflict resolution are invited to submit their application for the fellowship program. The other details like application process, eligibility, benefits, and selection process are given below.

A total of 130 candidates will be awarded the scholarship, from which 50 scholarships are for the candidates from the Master’s Degree and the rest of them for the candidates for certificates program.

There are two programs offered under the Rotary Peace Fellowship 2023 for which the applicants can apply.

Master’s Degree: The time period of the program is 15-25 months depending upon the institution.

Professional Development Certificate: The time period of the certificate program is one year

If you are willing to apply can make the scholarship application through offline mode to their Rotary districts. You can take help from the rotary club in order to meet the Rotary district.

The program will be offered at the following rotary peace centers

For Professional Development Certificate

  • Chulalongkorn University, Bangkok, Thailand
  • Makerere University, Kampala, Uganda

For Master’s Degree

  •  Uppsala University, Uppsala, Sweden
  • Duke University & the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA
  • International Christian University, Tokyo, Japan
  • University Of Bradford, West Yorkshire, England
  • The University Of Queensland, Brisbane, Australia.

Application  Deadline

The 2021-22 application will be available in February 2023.

Eligibility Criteria for Rotary Peace Fellowship 2023: ​

  1. Any age group candidates can apply for the Rotary Peace Fellowship.
  2. For Certificate Programme, a candidate should have a strong academic background.
  3. An applicant should hold a Bachelor’s or equivalent degree.
  4. For Certificate Programme, the candidates should have five (5) years of relevant work experience in a mid to upper-level position.
  5. For the Master’s program, the candidate should hold three (3) years of paid or unpaid full-time work experience.
  6. For the Master’s program, the student should be Potential for leadership
  7. The candidate should be very much knowledge of the English language.
  8. For Certificate Programme, the applicant must be able to demonstrate leadership skills

Examination Score:

(*) For the certificate: No GRE, IELTS or TOEFL scores are required.

(*) For Master’s: GRE Score is required for the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill while the requirement of IELTS and TOEFL score depends upon the Rotary Peace center being preferred for the study.

Not Eligible :

  • Active or honorary Rotary members are not eligible.
  • Employees and close or blood relatives of Rotary Club, Rotary District, Rotary International or any other Rotary related organization are not entitled to the fellowship program.
  • Rotary members earlier related to The Rotary Club are also not eligible to apply for fellowship program.

Award/Benefits 

  1. The Rotary Peace Fellowship offers a fully paid fellowship for the entire duration of the academic program selected.
  2. A total of 130 fellowships are to be awarded to the selected candidates which are divided into 50 for Master’s program and rest for the Certificate program.
  3. The duration of Rotary Peace Fellowships is depended on the selected program.
  4. For Certificate: The certificate course is of one (1) year program and is offered twice a year.
  5. For Master’s: The duration is of the Master’s Program depends upon the University under which it is being undertaken. Generally, the duration of the program is between 15-24 months and includes 2 to 3 months of field study.
  6. The fellowships cover the following :
  • Tuition and fees, 
  • Room and board, 
  • Round-trip transportation, 
  • All internship and field-study expenses.

Application Process

  • The candidates who are desirous to apply for the Rotary Peace Fellowship can make the offline application and are required to contact their local rotary clubs. To complete the application process, the candidates need to submit the required documents along with the application form.                                                                     
  • The direct application for the fellowship will not be accepted. You must require to make the application through the Rotary District preferably with the endorsement from the local rotary club.                                                                                                   
  • You should be required to make the application form in the English language only.

Application form should be accompanied with the following documents to make the application process completes.

    1. Application Form
    2. Curriculum Vitae
    3. Undergraduate Transcript
    4. GRE Scores (Only for Duke-UNC)
    5. Written Essay also required
    6. 2 Recommendations with signatures are also needed
    7. TOEFL or IELTS Score should be submitted
    8. Applicant’s certification signed and dated.

The topic of Essays:

While making the application, candidates have to submit 500-word essays on the given general topics along with the specific topic mentioned for the course selected:

Selection Process of Rotary Peace Fellowship 2023 

 

  • The selection of candidates for the Rotary Peace Fellowship will be based on the interview conducted by the Rotary club or district.                                              
  • The most suitable candidate’s application will then forwarded to The Rotary Foundation for the final decision.
