Prathibha Scholarship 2023: Apply Online, renewal, Status

Kerala State Council for Science, Technology & Environment KSCSTE inviting applications for Prathibha Scholarship programs for the year 2023 from the students who have been meritorious and qualified in the Higher Secondary Examination from Kerala.

Prathibha Scholarship Programme Fresh and Renewal 2023-24 KCSTE​

The scholarships are given for pursuing Degree/ Post Graduate courses in Basic/ Natural Science in Institutions/ Universities in India. The main motive to provide this scholarship to motivate aspiring students to higher studies and a career in Science.

Prathibha Scholarship Eligibility  2023​ KSCSTE

• The student should be of Kerala Origin.
• The students must have cleared Higher Secondary Board Examination in any of the Board, viz- CISCE/CBSE/State Board from Kerala.
•  He/she must have obtained minimum aggregate marks of 95% or equivalent grade for all subjects and minimum 95% aggregate marks or equivalent grade for all science subjects in Higher Secondary Board Examination.
• These students should also have secured admission for B.Sc. /Integrated M.Sc. courses in Basic or Natural Science in any of the Institutions or Universities in India.
• Reservation: SC/ST reservation category the minimum eligibility is stipulated to minimum marks of 90% or equivalent grade for all subjects in total and minimum 90% marks or equivalent grade for all science subjects in total in the Higher Secondary Board Examination.

Students who are in receipt of any other scholarships are not eligible to apply for Prathibha Scholarship.

Pratibha Scholarship Renewal 2023

• Prathibha Scholars are selected during the 1st year of their U.G. course based on their merit in Science Subjects in the Higher Secondary Examination.
• Students who have availed Prathibha Scholarship during all three years of U.G. course are only eligible to apply for the continuation of the scholarship for P.G. course.
• Those who are availing Prathibha Scholarship should not accept or hold another scholarship for the same course of study
•  Renewal of scholarship for IInd & IIIrd year of U.G. course & IInd year P.G. course is subject to scoring min 60% mark during the previous academic year.
• Renewal of scholarship for Ist year P.G. course is based on passing the U.G. course with minimum 75% marks in aggregate (In the case of integrated Courses the student should have score minimum 75% marks during the 1st 3 years)).
• This is necessary that no break-in study should be taken by the applications during the entire 5 year period of availing the scholarship.

Prathibha Scholarship Benefits/stipend 2023 :​

The selected students will be provided with the Prathibha Scholarship with the following benefits :

1.  Scholarship Amount: B.Sc. Degree Course/ First 3 years of Integrated M.Sc. course
   First Year – Rs. 12,000/-
   Second Year – Rs. 18,000/-
   Third Year – Rs. 24,000/-M.Sc. Course
   First Year/ Fourth Year of Integrated M.Sc. – Rs. 40,000/-
   Second Year/ Fifth Year of Integrated M.Sc. – Rs. 60,000/-Important: Continuation of the scholarship for the Postgraduate course is subject to securing a minimum 75% mark for the Degree course.
2. The scheme also offers opportunities for attending Science Enrichment Programmes and summer internships in reputed national and state-level R&D institutions in the State.
3. Eight Prathibha Scholars (two scholars in each of the disciplines- Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Physics) are eligible to be considered for summer programs at IISER-Trivandrum without screening test.
4. Under the scholarship programme, 50% of scholarships are reserved for girl students and 10% are reserved for SC/ST students.

Prathibha Scholarship Application 2023:​

• • The willing candidates are required to apply for scholarship application form in the prescribed form (Form – A) after securing admission for the B.Sc./Integrated M.Sc. Degree Course.
  • The filled-in application should be forwarded by the Head of the College/Academic institution in which the students have joined for B.Sc. /Integrated M.Sc. Degree course.
  •  The application form completed in all manner with all the required documents should reach on or before the due date by the head of the institution to the below-mentioned address.

The application form with all the documents should be inside in an envelope and the envelope should be superscribed with “APPLICATION FORM PRATHIBHA SCHOLARSHIP 2023, KSCSTE”.

List of Documents to be attached with the application :​

1. Duly filled the application in the prescribed format. Is required.
2. Attested copies of Higher Secondary Exam certificate / Mark list is also required with the application form.
3. The Community certificate must be submitted by Scheduled Caste (SC) /Scheduled Tribe (ST) applicants
4.  The students are also required to submit the Certificate for proof of place of origin

Prathibha Scholarship Login For Renewal :

1.  Account verification for the new user.
2. Students are required to Login by the registered user.
3. Then enter all details on Prathibha scholar.
4.  After Confirming the details, click on save.
5.  Then Download “Data Sheet”.
6. Applicants also required to Download “Advance Receipt”.
7.  Also, Download “Undertaking on Marks”.
8.  Submit the following documents to the address given below.

Required Documents for Pratibha Scholarship Renewal Online Submission Application :

• For renewal of application submit the Data Sheet must be signed by the student and endorsed by “Head of Institution”.
• Submit an Advance Receipt signed by the student.
• Self-attested copies of mark lists of the previous 2 semesters (OR) “Undertaking for Renewal” duly signed.
  (applicable for 2nd & 3rd-year U.G. course and 2nd-year P.G. course).
• Final consolidated mark list of U.G. course – (for applicants undergoing Ist year Postgraduate course).
• Mark lists of Ist three years [6 semesters] – (applicable for students undergoing IVth year Integrated course).
• Undertaking for Ist year Postgraduate students” – (for applicants undergoing 1st-year P.G. and 4th year Int. course).

Selection Procedure Prathibha Scholarship

1. The scholarship is awarded as per ranking based on the marks secured in Higher Secondary Examination for all Science subjects.
2. The provisional rank list of selected candidates will be published in KSCSTE website usually in November/December every year.
3. The awardees under this scheme of the scholarship will not be allowed to receive any other scholarship during the tenure of receipt of Prathibha Scholarship.
4. The students selected provisionally should confirm their willingness to avail Prathibha Scholarship by submitting an Undertaking that he/she will not accept any other scholarship for the current course of study.
5. On confirmation of acceptance of Prathibha Scholarship, the applicant should submit the following documents
   =>>  Status Verification Certificate
   =>> “Terms & Conditions” (in Stamp paper worth Rs. 50/-)
   =>>Advance receipt for the scholarship amount for the 1st year.
   =>>An Undertaking to the effect that he/she will not avail other scholarships for the same course of study
