M.Phil and Ph.D. Fellowship Minority Students Karnataka -:  Government of Karnataka, Directorate of Minorities provides M.Phil and Ph.D. Fellowship 2023 to the eligible students belonging to Minority Communities, ie. Muslim, Christian, Jain, Sikh, Buddhist & Parsis for pursuing M. Phil. And Ph.D. Courses in any of the subjects from Government recognized University.  The candidates who are willing and eligible can Register online on the website and fill the application form by downloading it from the web portal and submit it with all the required documents to the Directorate of Minorities.

Eligibility Criteria for minority fellowship for Ph.D. 2023 

  •  The interested candidate who wants to apply for a scholarship should be the domicile of the State of Karnataka
  •  The student’s age should be less than 35 years
  •  The candidates who are Government employees or full-time employees in private organizations are not eligible to apply for a fellowship.
  •  The student’s parents/guardian family annual income should not be more than Rs. 6 Lacs (6,00,000/-) from all sources. Regarding this, the student must submit his/her income or his/her parent’s/guardian’s income certificate issued by the Tahasildar.
  •  The candidates are also required to submit the Minority community certificate issued by Tahsildar as the M.Phil and Ph.D. Fellowship is available for only minority communities students (viz. Muslim, Sikh, Parsi, Buddhist, Christian, and Jain).
  •  The student must have passed the post-graduation examination in the concerned subject and should be pursuing higher studies such as regular and full-time M.Phil/Ph. D Degree in govt. recognized universities/institutions/colleges.
Duration of GOKDOM M.Phil and Ph.D. Fellowship 2023

M.Phil: 2 years or submission of dissertation whichever is earlier

Ph.D. : 3 years or submission of Ph.D. thesis whichever is earlier.

Stipend for Ph.D.  M.Phil in Karnataka 2023

The selected candidate of M.Phil and Ph.D. Fellowship will be provided with the following benefits.

  1.  They will be provided with the Fellowship @Rs. 25,000/- per month for Two years for M.Phil. course @Rs. 25,000/- per month for three years for Ph.D. course
  2. The Contingency Allowance will also be given @Rs. 10,000/- per annum for Two years M.Phil. course @Rs. 10,000/- per annum for Three years Ph.D. course.
  3. The fellowship will be released from the date of approval of fellowship by the Directorate of Minorities or giving of Award letters.
  4.  No separate/fixed House Rent and Medical allowance are provided.
Procedure for M.Phil and Ph.D. Fellowship Karnataka 
  • The interested Minority communities students who fulfill the above-mentioned eligibility conditions must have to register themselves Online.
  • After registering, they can download the application form from the Directorate of Minorities’ official website, ie. gokdom.kar.nic.in.
  • The duly filled in application form along with the necessary documents should be submitted to the Directorate of Minorities at the mentioned address.
Required Documents for GOKDOM M.Phil and Ph.D. Fellowship 2023
  1. You need to submit the attested Copy of Degree certificate
  2. The candidates should submit the attested copies of all marks cards of entire degree course/ previous examination, semesters
  3. The applying students should also submit the Attested Copy of SSLC mark sheet
  4.  If the candidates received any other Scholarships/ grants from any other agency/ institution.
  5. Students should also submit the first page of Bank passbook indicating Bank Name, account number, IFSC Code and Bank Address.

Selection Criteria of GOKDOM M.Phil and Ph.D. Fellowship 2023
  • All the received applications will be analyzed by a Directorate of Minorities and the decision of the Directorate of Minorities will be final.
  • The Directorate of Minorities reserves the right to withdraw/cancel the award without assigning any reason.
  • The selected candidates’ name list shall be published on the Directorate of Minorities website.
  • Award letters will be communicated to Awardees.
  •  Joining a Report in the prescribed proforma has to be submitted to the Directorate of Minorities to start the Fellowship.
