The Indian Space Research Organization is once again giving excellent opportunities to school students. ISRO is launching the second edition of its Young Scientist Program 2023. It is also known as the Young Scientist Program. This program has been started by ISRO for children studying in schools. Students who are studying in class 9th, 10th, 11th or 12th can participate in this. ISRO Young Scientist Program 2023 is a training program that is conducted during the summer holidays. Its duration is two weeks. During this time, students are given information about ISRO’s works, scientific research, rocket and space science.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Students who have passed the 8th Class examination and are studying in the 9th Class can apply to join this program. 
  • Three (3) students from each state / UT will be selected to participate in this program, including CBSE, ICSE and State syllabus. 
  • Five other seats are reserved for Overseas Indian Citizen (OCI) candidates from across the country.

ISRO Young Scientist Benefits 

  • It is a type of training program which is conducted during summer vacation. 
  • This program will be held during summer vacation from 11 to 22 May 2023, which is in a total of two weeks.
  • During the training, students are given information about ISRO’s works, scientific research, rocket and space science.

Application Process

  1. Interested students must apply to participate in this program. They have to put their school certificates in the application. And these certificates must be downloaded on the website.                       
  2. Students are selected on the basis of academic performance.                                                                                         
  3. Three students are selected from each state/union territory. Students studying in CBSE, ICSE or state boards can apply for this.                                                                                                                                                                  
  4. However, it gives preference to candidates from rural areas.

Selection Process

  • Candidates will be selected through online registration. 
  • Students will be selected on the basis of performance in the marks and extra-curricular activities achieved in the 8th class.
