Eligibility Criteria
- The candidates who want to apply for Gen Foundation Grant must have fulfilled the below-mentioned eligibility conditions.
- The candidate must study or research in the field of natural sciences, in particular food sciences or technology.
- Candidate must hold a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent.
- Gen Foundation Grant will not give to support undergraduates, short-term training, conferences, seminars, or thesis writing.
- Candidates living in any country are eligible to apply for Gen Foundation Grant.
Gen Foundation Grant Value
- The amount of each grant is based on the merits of each application and is set at the Trustees’ discretion.
- Previous grants have ranged between £500 – £5,000.
- Grants are usually paid in Sterling Pounds by cheque, if in the UK. Foundation arranges wire transfers for successful candidates residing outside of the UK.
Gen Foundation Grant Application Process
- The candidates who fulfill all the eligibility conditions are eligible to apply for Gen Foundation Grant.
- First of all the candidates are required to download the application form from the link given below.

- The application form is required to be submitted and must be typed and completed in English. The handwritten application form must not be considered by the foundation.
- The application form must be followed by all supporting documents which are mentioned below.
- In case the applicant is not able to type their application for any genuine reason, their reason should be explained in a cover letter and the form completed in legible handwriting.
- The application form along with supporting documents must be reached on 28th February 2023 or before.
- Candidates must post the application form along with all supporting documents to the following address.

Supporting Documents
- Filled incomplete application form. Must be typed and filled in English only
- One recent passport-sized photograph of the candidate. This must be attached with the application form
- Curriculum Vitae of the Candidate in English only
- Two original and signed letters of reference. It can be in English or Japanese. Photocopy or scanned letters of reference will not be accepted.
- Evidence of Acceptance by an Organization or Institution. An applicant can submit the conditional letter from an institution, it may be photocopy or original.
Selection Process
- All the submitted applications will be shortlisted by the Trustees of the Foundation.
- The shortlisted candidates will be called for a personal interview.
- The final selection of candidates will be based on the interviews.
