Fulbright Nehru Doctoral Research Fellowship 2023:- Applications are invited for Fulbright Nehru Doctoral Research Fellowships for the year 2023 from the Indian students who are registered for a Ph.D. at an Indian Institution. The selected candidates for Doctoral Research fellowship will work for six to nine months duration. If you are the lucky one will be awarded with monthly stipend and various other benefits.This scholarship is being offered by the United States-India Educational Foundation (USIEF). Fulbright Nehru Doctoral Research Fellowship Subject Field:
This fellowship is available for the following fields only.

Fulbright Nehru Doctoral Research Fellowship Affiliation:
The selected candidate will be joined to one U.S. host institution for their grant. USIEF strongly endorsed all applicants to identify institutions with which they wish to be affiliated and to correspond, in advance, with potential host institutions.

Fulbright Nehru Doctoral Research Fellowship Application Schedule :
- Last Date of submission of application for award : 15th July, 2020
- Field-specific experts review applications to short-list candidates : Early August, 2020
- National interviews of short-listed candidates in Delhi : Late September, 2020
- USIEF notifies principal and alternate nominees that they are recommended.
- Nominees take TOEFL : End Sept., 2020
- USIEF forwards applications of recommended candidates to the U.S. for J. William Fulbright Foreign
- Scholarship Board (FFSB) approval and placement : November, 2020
- USIEF notifies finalists : March-April, 2023
- Pre-Departure Orientation : May, 2023
- Pre-Academic Training in the U.S. (if required) : July-August 2023
- Program Begins : August-September, 2023
Fulbright Nehru Doctoral Research Fellowship benefits awarded:
- The selected candidates of fellowship will be provided with a monthly stipend and provide J-1 visa support.
- Accident and Sickness Program for Exchanges per U.S. Government guidelines will held for the fellows.
- The fellows will get round-trip economy class air travel, applicable allowances and modest affiliation fees, if any.
- Selected scholars will have opportunities to audit non-degree courses, conduct research and gain practical work experience in suitable settings in the U.S.
- No allowances are provided for dependents. The grant is available for the candidates only.
Fulbright Nehru Doctoral Research Fellowship Eligibility Criteria:
- The candidates should fulfill the following conditions to be eligible for Fulbright Nehru Doctoral Research Fellowships
- candidate must have completed sufficient research in the relevant field,
- especially in the identification of resources in India and the U.S.
- The candidate should be enrolled for their Ph.D. at an Indian institution by September 1, 2019.
- This grant of fellowship is applicable for Ph.D. students in order to conduct research essential to their dissertations/thesis.
- If the candidate is employed, then must fill the employer’s endorsement form with correct information.
- The applicant must upload a ‘writing sample’ such as a copy of an article or paper published/presented or extracts from the M.Phil. thesis in your online application form.
- Applicants with Ph.D. degrees or those at the final stage of Ph.D. thesis submission will not be considered for this fellowship.
