DST INSPIRE Scholarship Scheme 2023 for SHE Higher Education

Applications are invited from the eligible candidates for Inspire Scholarship Scheme 2023. Scholarship for Higher Education (SHE) is sponsored by the Ministry of Science & Technology, Department of Science & Technology (DST). Inspire scholarships are given to those candidates who have passed out their Class 12 exam. in Basic Sciences.

DST INSPIRE Scholarship Scheme 2023

The scholarships are given for undertaking Bachelor’s and Master’s level education in Natural and Basic Sciences. Under this scholarship scheme, Govt. of India gives the scholarship of up to Rs. Eighty Thousand annually to the promising and talented students of the country for higher education in Science.Rs. Sixty Thousand in cash and Rs. Twenty Thousand annually for the project.

Eligibility Criteria for INSPIRE Scholarship (SHE) 2023

1. The willing candidates must have passed 12th class in the 2023 year from any recognized state/central board in India.
2. After completing of 12th class, the candidate must be pursuing UG / PG courses like B.Sc., B.Sc. (Hons.) for 3 years or BS, 4 year’s courses or integrated with M.Sc. / MS 5 years programs in any UGC recognized College/University/Institution in India.
3. To be eligible, Candidates may be among the top 1% in Class 12 at their respective Board Exams and are practicing courses in natural and Basic Sciences at the B.Sc. or Integrated M.Sc levels.            OR
4. Students who have secured top 10000 ranks in the Joint Entrance Exam of JEE Advanced, JEE Main, AIPMT/NEET exams and have also opted to study Natural and Basic Sciences in any academic institute or university leading to graduate and a postgraduate degree in any academic institute or university.
5. Inspire Scholarship is open for the students who have admitted to Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER), National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER), Department of Atomic Energy Centre for Basic Sciences (DAE-CBS) at the University of Mumbai, 4-years BS or 5- years Integrated M.Sc programs in Basic & Natural Sciences at All India Institute of Technology (IITs) within to 10,000 ranks in JEE Advanced.
6. The Inspire Scholarships are also open for KVPY, NTSE, JBNSTS Scholars and Science Olympiad Medalists opting to undertake courses in the Natural & Basic Sciences leading to B.Sc and M.Sc Degree.

INSPIRE Scholarship (SHE) 2023 Benefits

• The selected candidates of the INSPIRE Scholarship will be awarded a scholarship amount of Rs. 80,000/- per annum for a maximum period of 5 (five) years.
• From this total amount, Rs. 60,000 will be in cash.
• All the selected SHE scholars are required to undertake Summer Research Projects under an active researcher in any recognized research centers across India. A summertime attachment fee of Rs. 20,000/- will be paid as Mentorship every year.
• The scholarship will be given to the Scholar’s State Bank of India bank account directly.

Application Process for INSPIRE Scholarship (SHE) 2023

1. The candidates who are enrolled in the B.Sc., BS, Integrated M.Sc/Int. MS courses are eligible to apply for the INSPIRE scholarship.
2. The application process for the INSPIRE scholarship is Online. The candidates have to visit the official website, ie. online-inspire.gov.in and have to register themselves.
   The applicant must use their valid email ID and it must be functional as all the communications shall be sent only to the registered email ID.
3.  Eligible candidates must have sent one application form with filling all the details in the form, such as Name& Gender, Date of Birth, Email ID, Password, Eligibility Criteria, Verification Code and submit the form.
4. Before applying for Inspire online application form, the students must keep the ready scanned copies of all the documents.

Documents List to Upload with Application Form

1.  A passport size photograph of the candidates with a maximum size 50 KB
2. Student’s Community or Caste Certificate, in case of the applicant, belongs to OBC/ST/SC
3.  Upload the eligibility or note or advisory note, if provided by the State or Central Board
4. Candidate must have uploaded the 10th Class Mark Sheet/certificate which proves the date of birth of the candidate.
5. The candidate must upload the 12th Class Mark Sheet
6. Upload the scanned copy of Certificate specifying Rank /Award in JEE (Main)/JEE (Advanced)/AIPMT/KVPY/JBNSTS/NTSE/ International Olympic Medalists
7.  It is also necessary to upload the Endorsement Form which must be signed by the Principal of the college or director of the Institute of the University.
8. Any other supporting documents.

The students are advised to scan and store all the above-mentioned documents and the same must be uploaded at the time of the online application process.
