Dr. Manmohan Singh Scholarship 2023 in the UK for Indian students 

Ph.D. in science and technology along with the other, St. John’s College of Cambridge is providing a scholarship in the name of former Prime Minister of India Dr. Manmohan Singh Scholarship 2023. Those talented students who want to work with high-quality research in Science and Technical subjects are the most suitable scholarship plan for the researcher.

Dr. Manmohan Singh is the graduate and Honorary Fellow of St. John’s College of Cambridge. Hence, on his name, the college launched a scholarship scheme in 2007, which is given to those brightest students who want to receive a Doctorate in Science, technology, social sciences, and economics. To achieve this scholarship, a certain process is required, in which the students are required to submit the applications for a Ph.D. at Cambridge University, where they have to select the college with the application. Other qualifications of the applicant are required to graduate in a related subject. The maximum age of 35 years and the applicant must have knowledge of the English language. The students selected under the Dr. Manmohan Singh Scholarship 2023 will be provided with tuition fees, international airfares, living costs for all students, Stayfnd, and all expenditures related to the United Kingdom visa by the institution.

Eligibility Criteria 

1. Only those applicants who get an offer of admission at St John’s College will be eligible for the award of the Scholarship.
2. The applicant should be an Indian national.
3. Students must hold a valid Indian passport.
4. The applicant must be below 35 years of age as on 31st December 2022.
5. The applicant should hold a master’s degree from a well-known institution/ university of India with a First Class (UG and PG) in the relevant subjects.
6. The applicant must not have received any previous exposure to UK education or any other UK funding.
7. The applicant must be keen to pursue a full-time Doctoral Research degree from the University of Cambridge commencing by September/October 2023.
8. The applicant should hold proof of having leadership qualities obtained by personal statements (extracurricular activities and/or participating for country/society in the relevant subject)
9. He/she must be fluent in written and spoken English.
10. The applicant should be able to fulfill the other criteria laid down by the University.

Award Value 

Dr. Manmohan Singh Scholarships are fully funded and the selected candidates will be awarded the following.

•  Academic  fees
• International airfare
• Monthly salary to cover living costs
• All expenditures related to Visa for the UK.
•  UK Visa 

Application Process  

1. First of all, identify an appropriate doctoral program and supervisor at the University of Cambridge.
2. Then apply for a place for September/October 2023 and secure admission
3. Then go to the University of Cambridge Graduate Admission Office website www.graduate.study.cam.ac.uk and make a formal application to the University as well as the Dr. Manmohan Singh Scholarship.
4. Select St John’s College as their first choice College on their application form.
5. Applicants have to indicate on their Graduate Studies Application Form (GRADSAF) form that they are applying for the Dr. Manmohan Singh Scholarships, but also to complete the section applying for funding from the University.
6. Applicants have to complete the College Application form attached to notify St John’s that they have applied to the University and wish to be considered for the Scholarship.
7. This form must be returned to St John’s by 15/01/2023.

Important : 

• Only those applicants who get an offer of admission at St John’s College will be eligible for the award of the Scholarship. 
• Candidates should NOT approach St John’s College directly at this stage.

 Selection Process

1.  The selection of candidates for the Manmohan Singh Scholarship in the UK is to be done by shortlisting the application received followed by personal interviews, which will be conducted by Skype.
2.  The shortlisted candidates will call for an interview and the selection committee chooses candidates for the awards.
3. After one month of the interview, the candidates will be intimated for an interview.
