DBT-RamalingaswamI Re-Entry Fellowship 2023: The Indian Nationals who are working in Overseas Research Institutions for the Ramalingaswami Re-entry Fellowship can submit their applications as the call for this re-entry scheme is from the Department of Biotechnology DBT of the Ministry of Science & Technology, Govt. of India.

The Ramalingaswamy Re-entry Fellowship Scheme is visualized to attract highly skilled Indian nationals researchers working overseas in various disciplines of biotechnology (agriculture, health sciences, bio-engineering, energy, environment, bioinformatics, and other related areas), by giving them an attractive entry to practice their R&D interests in Indian institutions.

DBT-RamalingaswamI Re-Entry Fellowship 2023

Eligibility 

Those Indian nationals are eligible for RamalingaswamI Re-entry Fellowships who are having a Ph.D., M.D., M. Tech, M.Sc. or equivalent degree with a tremendous track record as reflected in publications and other recognitions and with minimum 3 three years of post-doctoral research experience in overseas research laboratories.
Life sciences and biotechnology, bio-engineering, health care (human and animal), agriculture and veterinary biotechnology, bio-energy, and allied areas are the work areas for the candidates.
Those who are currently working in India are not eligible to apply.
To be eligible for this scheme, the candidate’s age should not be more than 45 years as on the closing date of the application.

Award Benefits of RamalingaswamI Re-Entry Fellowship

Monthly Remuneration :

The selected candidates will get consolidated monthly remuneration of Rs.1,00,000/-(One Lac) per month.

House Rent Allowance :

In addition to the above, the fellows will also get a House Rent Allowance of Rs. Eighteen Thousand Five Hundred (18500/-) (consolidate) per month. If the Host institutes provide accommodation to the selected candidates, then no HRA is admissible.

Research/contingency grant:

The selected candidates will get a research/contingency grant of Rs. 10,00,000/- (Ten lacs) for the 1st year and 2nd year, Rs. 7,50,000/- (seven lacs fifty thousand) for the 3rd and 4th year and Rs. 5,00,000/- (five lakhs ) for 5th year for the purchase of consumables, minor equipment, international and domestic travel, engaging manpower and other contingent expenditure to be incurred for the implementation of the research proposal.

Other Benefits :

Medical benefits, transport allowance, leave travel allowance and other benefits DBT encourages host institutions to provide these as per their prevailing norms for their employees of equivalent rank.

Time period/Tenure of RamalingaswamI Re-Entry Fellowship 

The selected candidates will get the fellowship for 5 five years of duration which is extendable for another term on the fresh appraisal of the performance of the fellow.
