Central Sector Scholarship: College University Students 2023: Are you looking for a scholarship in India and it has been so difficult for you? The Indian government has made big arrangements and has come for good government scholarships to college and university students. The Government of India is now offering a Central Sector Scheme of Scholarship for Colleges and University Students (CSSS) 2023. The scholarship rate is Rs 10,000 for the first three years for university courses till the final level and Rs 20,000 for postgraduate courses.

The program aims to provide students with qualified support to the financial assistance for their daily expenses while completing their graduate and post-graduate studies. This does not mean that there is no government scholarship for undergraduate students. The annual targets are 82,000 scholarships per year (41,000 for boys and 41,000 for girls), which are divided among state boards of education according to the state’s population in the group for18 to 25 years old. Students who are above 80th percentile of the selected candidates in the same category of a given class 12th examination board and who continue regular courses without the benefit of any other scholarship are eligible for this program.

Collage University Scholarship

The Central Sector Scholarship for College and University Students 2023-24 is covered by Direct Transfer of Benefits (DBT) in which the scholarship amount is paid directly to the bank account of the beneficiaries.

To qualify for the scholarship under the Central Sector Scholarship Program for college and university students, a person has to produce proof of possession of Aadhaar or pass Aadhaar certification before 30 July 2019. Until Aadhaar is assigned to the person, the following options can be used:

  • Aadhaar Enrollment ID Slip
  • Application for Aadhaar enrollment
  • Voter ID
  • Permanent Account Number
  • Passport
  • driving license
  • Identity certificate on official letterhead having a photograph of such a member issued by a gazetted officer or Tehsildar.
  • Identity card issued by a college or institute or university.
  • Any other document with a photo specified by the state government.

The Central Sector Scholarship for College & University Students has been integrated on the National Scholarship Portal (NSP 2.0) http://www.scholarships.gov.in/ since 1st August 2015. The students can apply online through this website date after which they passed class 12th class.

Fields/Subjects of Studies

This Central Sector Scholarship for College & University Students is available for undergraduate, postgraduate and vocational all courses. These scholarships are awarded for studying offered by Praja University.

Scholarship Amount

The students who are studying at the graduation level will be provided Rs 10,000 per year (ten thousand rupees annually) for the first three years of any course in government recognized colleges and universities.

Similarly, for the first three years of postgraduate courses, the students are provided Rs 20,000 per year (twenty thousand rupees annually) if they are studying in any government recognized colleges and universities.

If any student is pursuing any professional or any integrated course of 5 years, they will be provided Rs 20,000 per year (twenty thousand rupees annually) for the 4th and 5th year.

Also, the benefits of the scholarship are only provided till the graduation level studies for the students who are pursuing any technical courses ie. B. Tech., BE.

Eligibility to Apply

The Central Scholarship Program for College and University students is a scholarship program with the following eligibility:

  • Students who represent more than 80% of successful applicants in class XII.
  • Selection panel in the related data stream.
  • Follow the regular course.
  • One year with a family income of less than Rs 8 lakh
  • No other scholarships found.

How to Apply Online

Before registering on the National Scholarship Portal (NSP 2.0), the following documents should be kept to upload online for Central Sector Scholarship for College & University Students:

  • A manual to complete bank statements.
  • Aadhaar card number with valid mobile phone number
  • An email id.
  • The caste certificate
  • A disability certificate (if applicable).

Once your personal information is complete, students are required to select the “Post-Matric” option from the drop-down menu and then the “Central Sector Scholarship Program for University and University Students” program.
