There are many such students who are talented but they can not get the platform. Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam IGNITE Award 2023  is given for such students who have the potential to change their thoughts. Let us tell you that this scholarship award is given by the National Innovation Foundation NIF). If you want to apply for this award then the application form will be filled and sent. The National Innovation Foundation asks students to submit their new technical ideas and then the ideas are tested and honored. The participants can submit their ideas through photos/videos/ sketches.

The basic purpose of Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam IGNITE Award 2023  competition is to develop the spirit of innovation and creativity within the students. Students selected in this competition are given the rank of the inventor of the idea by the National Innovation Foundation. National Innovation Foundation is a part of the Department of Science and Technology of the Government of India, which organizes this competition every year in the whole country.

Eligibility Criteria 

1. Students up to the Class 12th can participate in this Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Ignite Award.
2. The candidate’s age should not be more than 17 years.
3. Students from any background viz. arts, commerce, etc. can participate in the competition
4. Candidates can submit as many as you can enter to participate in the competition.

 IGNITE Award Benefits 

• All practical and useful ideas/innovations may be given financial and mentoring support. In the case of deserving cases, patents will be filed in their name at no cost to them. It is also possible that some of the ideas might attract entrepreneurs and these may get licensed for monetary consideration.
• The candidates who submit maximum properly documented entries will be awarded Appreciation Certificates.
• Each innovation or traditional knowledge practice spotted and documented by them will be credited as being the Scout of a particular innovation or traditional knowledge in the record.
• Only awarded entries or projects or innovations will be shown in the exhibition.
• The award will be given at the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad.
•  National Innovation announces the names of the winning students by October.

• In the application form, the candidates are required to fill some necessary details, like- personal details like name, age, school name & address, and class, etc, Residence Address along with Contact details. The applicant should also clearly mention the title of the project or idea or innovation. Details description of diagram/sketches/photos of the project and a Declaration that the project has been done by the student themselves without guidance from parents or teachers.

Selection Criteria

• From all the received entries, the selected entries will be estimated by a group of experts and Honey Bee Network Collaborators.
•  All the estimation will be done on the basis of information filled by the candidates in the application form and from the entry.
• The students will be contacted by phone/email, if at the time of the screening process, in case additional information is required.
