The applications are invited for Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Summer Training Program 2023 from the Academy of Scientific and Innovative Research AcSIR. There are a total of 20 numbers of fellowship, given to the best suitable candidates for two (2) months, between May and August.
AcSIR Dr. Apj Abdul Kalam Summer Training Fellowship Program 2023
The Indian students will get the opportunity for Summer Training Program at AcSIR to spend summers working at premier research Laboratories of CSIR with some of the leading scientists of India in an environment which promotes transdisciplinary research.
ACSIR Academy of Scientific and Innovative Research is a research academy created by an Act of Indian Parliament to be an institute of national importance. It roles across 37 national laboratories and 6 centers of Council and Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR) presenting postgraduate and doctoral degrees.

Eligibility Criteria
- Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Summer Training Program is open to Indian students.
- First, of 2-years M.Sc program- minimum first-class at B.Sc level is required
- Third or Fourth year of a 5-year Integrated M.Sc program- GPA 6.0 or 60% (up to IV Sem) is needed.
- First-year of 2-year M.E/M.Tech program- GPA 8.0 or 80% OR GPA 7.0 or 70% for CFTIs at B.E/B.Tech level or GATE Score ≥600 or NET (Engineering) Rank from 1 to 100
- Third year of B.E/ B.Tech program- GPA 8.0 or 80% OR GPA 7.0 or 70% for CFTIs (upto IV Sem) is required from the candidates.
- Third or Fourth year of Integrated M.E/M.Tech program- GPA 8.0 or 80% OR GPA 7.0 or 70% for CFTIs (up to IV Sem) or GATE Score ≥600 or NET (Engineering) Rank from 1 to 100
Awards Amount
- The selected candidates will get a Fellowship worth of Rs. 25000/- (twenty-five thousand) for the duration of the program, ie. two months between May and August.
- The selected candidates will also get Travel Allowance – Reimbursable to a maximum of Rs. Five Thousand (5000/-) per selected students.
- This is a compulsorily Residential Program where the selected students would be required to stay on the campus of the respective CSIR Labs on a charge basis.

- Phase-I: Registration
- Interested candidates are required to first register at the Online Application Portal.
- Please note primary information such as Name, Father’s Name, Date of birth, Mobile Number, and Email address cannot be changed after Registration.
- Proceed to Phase-II to complete Online Application using Login Credentials sent to the registered email id.
- Phase-II: Application Form
- The online application form is of five sections, namely-
- Official Information,
- Personal Information,
- Academic Information,
- Any other relevant information and
- Supporting Documents.
- A candidate can provide a maximum of 5 preferences for CSIR Laboratories. Please visit the websites of participating CSIR Labs for information on their research areas.
- Out of the five sections of the Online Application, sections (A), (B), (C), and (E) are mandatory and (D) is optional.
- Please note Online Application is to be mandatorily supported by following documents in section (E):
- Curriculum Vitae
- Research Proposal (250-300 words)
- Plagiarism Check Report, certifying that the Research Proposal is original
- Letter of Recommendation
- Non-Disclosure Agreement, for the information, records, etc. to be made available to the selected candidates.
- The application form has to be completed in all aspects for consideration.
- Multiple applications from the same applicant will result in the cancellation of candidature.
- All filled-in information should be supported by relevant documents at the time of selection interview.
Selection Process
- The selection of candidates will be primarily based on a Research Proposal and other screening criteria decided by the Committee.
- An applicant can give five preferences of CSIR Labs/Institutes.
- The applicants who have shortlisted will be intimated electronically.
- The shortlisted candidates will have to face a selection Interview held at the given location and appearance at the interview is necessary for consideration of the application.
- The applicant may be allowed to participate through electronic media for the interview (Skype etc.) under specific requests.
- The selection of candidates is purely based on merit/ performance at the selection interview.
- The candidates for interviews will be provided by Food and lodging.
